My name is Rayki (pronounced Ray-kee) and I am a lupus health and wellness public speaker, warrior, and educator on a mission to spread awareness to other lupus warriors of color. I am an NYC native here to educate and inspire you all to live a full life.
Since you’re here, you might as well get comfortable. We’ll be spending a lotta time together. I will share my painstaking journey to diagnosis, symptoms, and treatments.
I encourage all visitors to share their stories, concerns, triumphs, and troubles. It is my mission to build a community of lupus warriors and those who support us. We will empower each other through education, experience, and laughter.
As we all know, Lupus is a real B*TCH, but it’s time for her to get HANDLED.
So, if you’re here, you are probably familiar with Lupus. If not, here’s a little bit about it. Lupus, aka SLE, is an inflammatory disease caused when the immune system attacks its own tissues. Lupus can attack pretty much any part of your body but most often it affects the joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart, and lungs. Symptoms and intensity vary from person to person.
Since there is no cure for Lupus, my goal is to focus on improving quality of life. I will provide useful tips to minimize symptoms and reduce flare-ups. Together we will fight and win against this unpredictable condition. We will take back our lives and refuse to relinquish control ever again. And if we fall, we will get back up to fight again.
